The controller for your unit should be mounted separately to the air distribution box. It's hard to tell from the pictures you sent but if the wiring diagram you sent is correct for your unit then it's also showing it as a separate part from the rooftop unit.

It's likely you have a 4,400 lb axle which you can confirm by reading the sticker on the axle tag in the center of the beam. If that's the case then you will want to use the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # K23-478-479. Thank you for the photo, and it is a good idea to verify what you have, which I can confirm for you is a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver.
For a hitch lock, I highly recommend going with a stainless steel lock as it will prevent rust and corrosion, and for the best option you will want a Curt lock:

Based on my on the information available for your 2017 Airstream International Signature 27FB I was able to find that you have torsion axles, but while I believe your trailer uses Dexter axles I was not able to confirm this.
You will want to check the axle tag located on the center of the axle facing rearward as this will have the brand of axle, and the axle rating.
If it is a Dexter torsion axle you will need to know which number axle yours is, and what the axle rating of each axle is.

The picture you sent in is the SmartPlug RV TV/Internet Inlet # SM98FR we just have it as a different part number. Based how this is designed it would take quite a bit of rain or moisture to get into the recessed connectors of this. We've sold quite a few of these and haven't had any issues so I would not anticipate it being an issue for you. We have no idea what SmartPlug might be coming out with either. view full answer...

I reached out to Dexter who confirmed that your Dexter axle on your 2010 Airstream came with the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469. As your trailer is 12 years old the brakes may have been changed but the size would be the same. From what I could find out, the Dexter axle you have on your Airstream uses an inner bearing # 25580 and an outer bearing # LM67048. With that being said, the hub you will need is the Dexter # 8-201-5UC3-EZ. This will include the bearings, seal, EZ-Lube grease cap, and lug nuts.
